Santa Pola is a municipality in the Valencian Community located on the Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante, in the Bajo Vinalopó region, which has about 35,000 inhabitants.

The sea has marked the history of Santa Pola. The Iberians built a walled enclosure in the IV century B.C. and the Romans promoted a port, key to the Mediterranean for maritime trade, the Portus Illicitanus that had all the elements of a city: a fish salting factory, warehouses, the Roman House of the Palm Grove, market, necropolis, etc..

It also has a fantastic natural environment that you can explore either walking, cycling or horseback riding .... You can visit the Natural Park of the Salinas or make different routes through the Sierra. Of course, you can also choose and enjoy any of its beaches in its more than 11 km. of coastline.

Gastronomically speaking, its recipes, based mainly on the typical products of the bay such as sea bream, sea bass, lechola, shrimp, crayfish and red shrimp, will delight any meal, especially its fish and seafood, as they have Designation of Origin.
Rice is the star dish of this area, with which dishes such as "arroz a banda", "arroz negro", "paella de marisco" and "arròs y gatet" are elaborated. In addition we also find other dishes such as; the gazpacho of grouper, the blanquillo of monkfish and the famous "Caldero".
As for the pastries, we highlight the angel hair puff pastries, coca boba, rolls and all kinds of ice cream, mantecados and slush.
