Inclusive tourism programme
Representation of People with Disabilities through tourism sector work groups and committees.
We work with professionals from the tourism and cultural sectors in different committees and work groups raising awareness of the needs of clients with disabilities and with accessibility requirements in general. This is carried out so that the technical standards, publications and projects carried out by these groups and their entities contain universal accessibility criteria. Some of the entities we collaborate with are: AENOR, SEGITTUR, ICTE, AECA, ENAT, THINKTUR, among others.
Analysis
Analysis of the accessibility of Spanish tourism resources and information about their characteristics aimed at people with disabilities as well as the general public.
Since 2004, PREDIF has been using an accessibility checklist protocol specifically designed for tourism establishments and routes. The protocol was designed in collaboration with CEAPAT (Spanish National Reference Centre for Self Reliance and Technical Assistance) and the social entities in Spain that represent people with disabilities ONCE (Spanish National Organisation for the Blind), PLENA INCLUSIÓN (the Organisation in Spain that represents people with learning or development difficulties), FIAPAS (Spanish Confederation of Families of the Deaf) and CNSE (Spanish National Confederation for the Deaf). Also taking part were a number of different professionals from the tourism sector. The protocol is updated periodically and is checked by the entities mentioned above.
Using this protocol, PREDIF technicians have analysed on site more than 4,000 tourism establishments and resources across the whole of Spain. Those with the best accessibility conditions have been published in more than 20 inclusive tourism guides about different resources: accommodation, restaurants, museums and cultural venues, natural spaces, leisure and recreational facilities, accessible Greenways, accessible wine routes, and lastly, the Accessibility Guide for All for the Way of Saint James.
To facilitate access to all the information through new technologies, PREDIF has developed, with the backing of Fundación Vodafone España, the TUR4all, "Accessible Tourism for all " mobile App, which contains all the tourism resources that are published in the guides and which are continually updated.
Tourism establishments and resources reviewed by PREDIF accessibility experts and published in the TUR4all App are awarded TUR4all Accessible Tourism insignia. For more information, click here.
