The Center highlights the importance of the geostrategic location of Ponte de Lima, assumed since the Roman period, and narrates, in an approach over time, the main episodes of a military nature that happened in this historic town and in the surrounding territory. At the same time, the evolution of weapons, clothing and uniforms is traced. Military figures from Ponte de Lima are also evoked, or who had strong connections with this environment, but who distinguished themselves in other war scenarios and in high military and diplomatic functions in the global context of the History of Portugal.
