<p>Temple of a single nave, which is attached to the Franciscan convent of the same name, built, east of the city, between 1579 and 1583 under the patronage of Rodrigo del &Aacute;guila, steward of the Empress Do&ntilde;a Mar&iacute;a. Following the Herrerian canons, it is of great severity.</p> <p>Due to the successive crises and the austerity of the order, the ornamentation of the church was not completed until the middle of the 18th century.</p> <p>In 1957 the primitive church was enlarged, endowing it with the current transept. In 1977 the original convent was demolished and the present one was built.</p>
