The Church of San Paulino is the main church of the town of Barbate, located opposite the town hall and separated from it by the Plaza de la Inmaculada. Access to the church is very easy, and can be reached by private car, cab and even bus, located near one of the bus stops and there is even some other parking space reserved for people with reduced mobility.
Its architect, Manuel Fernández Pujol, built this temple with a Latin cross plan and a single nave with a barrel vault, reinforced by sash arches, which unload their weight on pilasters.
Around the temple there are several parochial dependencies such as the sacristy, the parish priest's office, the archives, a classroom for catechesis and housing.
The interior features five large oil paintings, painted by the Italian painter Ciro de Michele and made between 1954 and 1958, which depict Gospel scenes of the sea, but we also highlight the six stained glass windows, which depict the Virgin del Carmen, San Paulino, the Virgin del Pilar, the Virgin de la Oliva, San José and the Immaculate Conception, plus a rose window with Carmelite insignia. The building is owned by the Bishopric of Cadiz and Ceuta. This text was automatically translated.
