The church of Santa Maria del Castillo is the only parish that is currently preserved of the four that the Spanish town of Buitrago del Lozoya had in the sixteenth century. It was built in the early 14th century over an old mosque, inside the walled enclosure, very close to the castle. It remains open to the public and with the possibility of climbing to the bell tower (not accessible route). The resource is accessible for people with reduced mobility.
