The Museu da Comunidade Concelhia (MCCB), elected the Best Portuguese in 2012 by APOM - Associação Portuguesa de Museologia and distinguished with the renowned Kenneth Hudson Award (2013), in Belgium, is a project inserted in the line of New Museology and Sociomuseology that intends to enhance the identity and history of the Municipality of Batalha and its residents. It assumes itself as a center of living culture, bringing together the functions of research, conservation and enhancement of a cultural heritage, representing the way of life of local people.
