Motivados pela poluição que ameaça gravemente a saúde dos oceanos, e devido à sobre-exploração de recursos, em terra e no mar, os fundadores da EXPO'98 planearam construir um aquário. Este deveria manter viva a mensagem da Expo‘98 e, ao mesmo tempo aumentar a oferta cultural e educacional do país. Assim nasceu o Oceanário de Lisboa, um aquário gigante totalmente dedicado aos oceanos e à sua conservação. || Nota: Visitas inclusivas para pessoas com deficiência visual todos os primeiros sábados do mês | Visitas inclusivas para surdos todos os terceiros sábados do mês | Em agosto estas visitas não se realizam.
