<p>In the Plaza de Italia stands the palace of the Serrano family, today the cultural center of Caja de Ávila. It was built over other houses in the mid-sixteenth century by Pedro Álvarez Serrano and his wife Leonor Zapata. Its floor plan is adapted to the plan of the city forming a corner with Estrada street and its facade is organized in three bodies, something unusual in the architecture of Avila.</p>
