El parque está en el barrio de Ciutat Vella. Está sobre una antigua fortaleza de la ciudad. Es uno de los parques más grandes y típicos de Barcelona. Dentro del parque está el Parlamento de Cataluña, el Museo de Zoología dedicado a animales, una parroquia, un invernadero de plantas de más de 100 años, un lago con barcas, 2 parques para niños y el zoo. El parque tiene varias entradas con puertas de hierro. Hay escaleras y rampas en las entradas. Dentro de parque hay dos bares con cuartos de baño adaptados para personas con discapacidad.
